Sr. Commercial Counsel

Stack Overflow is looking for a Senior Commercial Counsel to help support all commercial functions and related legal operations.  We are looking for someone experienced to join as a true strategic partner and build trust with those around them.  This person will report into the Assistance General Counsel.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support for go-to-market and commercial contracting
  • Support cross functional initiatives and collaborate with a wide variety of departments including go-to-market leadership and finance
  • Ensure the team’s delivery of practical approaches to problem solving

Representative Duties

  • Help develop, implement and continually improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency of the legal team to support the company’s hypergrowth.
  • Become a key member of a highly functional team with a strong sense of customer service to the business.
  • Drive the completion of multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced and high energy environment.

Qualifications (knowledge, skills and abilities)

  • 6+ years’ experience as a qualified attorney, including substantial experience within a legal department of a leading software or technology company
  • Excellent contract negotiation and drafting skills across a wide array of contracting vehicles
  • Ability to think on the fly and drive efficient deal process and fast decision making
  • Superior business judgment and the ability to address complex opportunities and issues in creative and effective ways
  • Ability to understand our product and platform in an in depth manner to effectively support the GTM team 
  • Specific experience in a SaaS or enterprise software environment
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to create and sustain lasting relationships with customers and management
