Senior Business Value Consultant

US - Remote

This is an exciting opportunity to get in early and build the Business Value Consulting practice from the ground up at one of the most well-known companies in the world. You’ll work with Sales, Sales Engineering and Customer Success to help lead and build the Value Assessment and Value Realization processes, templates, and tools. You’ll start out learning our product and the sales cycle, and then you’ll need to get your hands dirty building out the Business Value Consulting program with an eye on results and scalable growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with prospective customers, Sales, and Sales Engineering (SE) to identify, prioritize, and quantify key business drivers and understand how our solutions will help customers meet their strategic objectives.
  • Partner with the CRO, Sales, and SE leadership to develop value-led engagement strategies and attach business value to every opportunity in a scalable, repeatable way.
  • Constantly iterate and improve our value model; including ideating new formulas as new features and capabilities are launched.
  • Educate and train GTM teams on using our business value tools to build self-service business cases across Sales and Customer Success.
  • Attend client meetings and conduct in-depth discovery on strategic objectives, current state vs. future state, pain points, gaps in technology, and how Stack Overflow for Teams can help close those gaps.
  • Present results of Business Value Assessment and Realizations to a range of audiences including C-Suite, developer leads, IT, and procurement.
  • Conduct TCO and ROI analyses and value realization engagements.
  • Support the development of new value assets, tools and collateral, helping develop the practice, and manage the library of Business Value assets.

What You’ll Need to Have:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

  • 7+ years in Value Consulting, Value Management, Value Engineering, Management Consulting, Solutions Consulting, or Customer Success.
  • Experience building quantitative and qualitative analyses. Highly analytical and well-organized, in both thought process and mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator with attention to detail.
  • Experience presenting data and findings to clients and/or executive audiences.
  • Deep financial analysis and modeling of ROI and TCO concepts to justify business cases.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated flexibility and creativity when facing challenging problems or projects; ability to adjust to changing priorities of a quarterly cycle.
  • A storyteller, passionate about helping customer identify and activate strategic business objectives.
  • A creative mindset to help build the Business Value Consulting program for global scale.
